Quote Of The Week – Helen Keller – The Bright Side!

“Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.” This week’s quote comes from the amazing American author Helen Keller and it’s probably the prettiest another version of the famous “Stay positive”. We should always look on the bright side of life!

Today, 27th of June, it’s International Helen Keller day. A commemorative holiday to celebrate her birth.

So, in honor of that, I picked this week’s quote from all of the beautiful and inspirational quotes from Helen, to give you a little push to a better positive thinking.

Short history – Helen Keller.

Helen Adams Keller was born in Tuscumbia, Alabama on June 27, 1880. She was born a healthy child to Kate Adams Keller and Arthur Keller. But at the age of just 19 months, Keller went deaf and blind. That, as a result of some unknown illness like rubella or scarlet fever. They called it “brain fever”.

But that didn’t stop Hellen Keller to live an amazing life. She overcame the challenge of being blind and deaf and she became one of the 20th’s century leading humanitarian. She co-founded the ACLU ( American Civil Liberties Union (ACLU), an advocate for the rights of women and a strong supporter of birth control).

During her young years, she developed a way of communication with the ones around her. She and her friend created a type of sign language and at the age of 7, they had more than 60 signs to communicate.

Starting with 1887, Keller’s teacher, Anne Sullivan, helped Helen to make big progress with her communication and so, Keller went to college and she was the first blind and deaf person to graduate college.

After that, during her remarkable life, she received honors in recognition for her achievements and she stood as one of the most powerful examples of determination and hard work. Overcoming her condition, she became a world-renowned activist working to make others lives better.

The Bright Side Of Life:

She used to think that the most beautiful world can always be seen and lived through imagination.

And I couldn’t agree more! We should be able to see beyond what we actually see with our eyes.

This week’s quote says to “Keep your face to the sunshine and you cannot see a shadow.” Because that where all the good things are – on the positive aspect of life. And there is another plus. Staying in the sun and keeping your face there will only make us shine more.

So, yes, keep positive. We already know that life is actually hard sometimes and that it’s not easy. But the secret to a normal and happier life is just to stay in the light.

How can we cope with problems? – enjoy the little things, spend time with your loved ones, listen to your favorite songs. Simple like that.

Keep your face to the sunshine – never let yourself down. We, as human beings, are capable of more things than we actually know. If we would just have enough confidence and lots of willpower, we would really change the world to a better place.

Stay away from the shadows – which metaphorically speaking are the problems. Focusing more on the bad in your life won’t help. It will just get you into a sad place.

We should live our lives to the fullest, enjoying every single part of our journey on this planet. Because, we only live once, like that famous song says. That’s why I agree with Helen when she says to stay positive. We can always change and get rid of the bad from our life. We just have to work harder to accomplish that.

Why waste time and energy on the bad stuff and bad people? Eventually, things get better, problems find a solution. Life always moves on just like the sun always shines in the morning.

So, just remember, smile more, keep your head up and be happy! That’s all!
