A Shot Of Wisdom, A Glass With Entertainment and A Drinking Quotes Keg-Party

Well, we’ve focused on food, sports, movies, fashion, traveling, any topic out there. We even got our own Quantum Quote Accelerator and we’re bringing famous people together.

But, we’ve forgotten about another interesting topic – drinking quotes! I got it covered!

I just have to confess from the beginning, while writing this post I got my favorite liquor in the world right next to my mouse and keyboard. And that is coffee, of course.

A Shot Of Wisdom and Imagination, please!

Now, we all know one thing – So many famous artists and writers were legendary drinkers. They all admitted openly that the whole creative process involved some alcohol. That’s how the great myth of booze and the creative imagination was born. Well, some people are productive only after their first shot of liquor.

I can relate to that because I feel ready for life only after my first sip from my coffee mug. It’s liquid, so some resemblance there is. 🙂

I think it was the amazing Stephen King that delivered the best quote about drinking and artist. It’s something like this: Question:Do you drink?” – Answer: “Of course, I just said I was a writer.”

So, then, it’s safe to say that liquor is the main inspiration for many artists. What happened to their muse? I’ll tell you what happened – they got artist’s block – which means they’re having a creative slowdown or they’re not able to produce new things.

Steve Martin, the American comedian, jokes about this loss of vision and he thinks it’s just an excuse – “Writer’s block is a fancy term made up by whiners so they can have an excuse to drink alcohol.”

On a serious note, many artists, then and now, suffer from anxiety, from depression or loneliness, we’ve seen that many times. Specialists say that drinking alcohol isn’t just an excuse (at first), but mostly as a way of self-medication against the emotions and stress. More like a desire to drink and to be able to disappear in a fantasy world where they can imagine characters, invent stories, songs, poems and create fiction.

It was American author Ernest Hemingway that confessed something that actually makes sense: “I drink to make other people more interesting”. As long as it’s just for “business purpose only” it’s ok. If it turns into a problem, then it’s not fun anymore. 🙁

So, limit your drinks!

Let Me Entertain You With Some Funny Drinking Quotes!

Now, aside from gaining extra creative skills (or at least that’s what they say), having a glass or beer, wine or whiskey gives you two options (when you’re not seeking inspiration) – you either get sad to the point of crying and remembering all of your problems or you get so happy that even your fingers appear to be so funny. As long as you keep it cool, both alternatives will help you destress.

You know what they say – a glass of wine a day keeps the doctor away. Maybe.

What’s more interesting, is that there are people, on this planet, that are afraid of an empty glass – it’s called a Cenosillicaphobia and yes, it’s a real phobia. Well, you can always fill it with water!

But, you already got the idea, I’m not talking about staying hydrated and drinking water or fresh juices (which, by the way, we should do, because that’s what the doctors say – drink at least 8 glasses of water per day!)

Drinking too much of these God’s beverages can get you in trouble. Louis C. K. actually has an advice for that – “One thing I learned from drinking is that if you ever go Christmas caroling, you should go with a group of people. And also go in mid-December”. Sounds like he lost track of time.

Be careful, you don’t want to end up in a place you really don’t want to or do something really silly. Alcohol can also boost your courage, determination and your gut.

Zach Galifianakis, American actor from “The Hangover” saga knows that too much alcohol can get you in trouble especially in this case: “You know you have a drinking problem when the bartender knows your name — and you’ve never been to that bar before”.

C. Fields jokes around saying that he has other important things to do, other than drinking: “I certainly do not drink all the time. I have to sleep you know”.

I found some awesome short jokes and I have to put them here, trust me they’re fun:

– Q: What did the bartender say after Charles Dickens ordered a martini? A: “Olive or twist?”

– Q: What did the bartender say after a book walked into the bar? A: “Please, no stories!”

– A hamburger walks into a bar and the bartender says, “Sorry, we don’t serve food in here.”

Wise Quotes About Alcohol? – Drinking Quotes Keg Time!

The oldest recipe in the world is a beer recipe, did you know that? Alcoholic production has been tracked back for at least 12,000 years. Wow! I had no idea.

Next, I got four quotes from four great authors and I think they’re quite wise and deep, even if they’re related to drinking. Here they are:

“In wine, there is wisdom, in beer, there is Freedom, in the water, there are bacteria” – Benjamin Franklin. See, every drink has a hidden message.

“Alcohol is the anesthesia by which we endure the operation of life” – George Bernard Shaw. Meaning, that sometimes it’s ok to drown your sorrow with some good liquor. It’s a temporary feeling thought. The problems won’t disappear forever.

Life is too short to drink bad wine” – Johann Wolfgang von Goethe. Yeah, I totally agree. It’s so much better to drink something of good quality than to drink cheap liquids. Don’t!

The most expensive liquor in the world is a bottle of tequila called  “Pasión Azteca – Platinum Liquor Bottle by Tequila Ley”. The crazy price?! –  $3.5 million.

“Wine is bottled poetry” – Robert Louis Stevenson. Yeah, I’ve heard stories about how a bottle can actually be a short tale about the making process, about the location and origins of the liquid inside the bottle. Maybe that’s what Stevenson was talking about.

Now, back to the idea of alcohol helping the creative process. We may ask “Why”? Well, here is the answer – Study has shown that it tends to reduce the ability to focus more on certain things and ignore the others, which helps the creative part of our brain to shine more. Problem solved!

Most of the people go for a drink in a bar or a pub.Which brings me to another point – Don’t drink and drive! Ever! It takes at least 2 hours to get it out of our systems. So call for a friend to pick you up to give you a ride home or to walk you home. Both work!

Drinking song – A Glass With Entertainment!

Liquor Store Blues – Bruno Mars

Now, for the entertainment part, I saved this awesome reggae with a shot of dub sounds song from Bruno Mars ( we all love Bruno!). It’s really a song about how can one avoid problems by drinking (not too much, remember!).

But the man also has hope that tomorrow everything will be just fine. Press play, it’s catchy!
